Answer first
A photographer who has shot at dusk in a desert travels in your vehicle and works the sunset ridge with you for thirty to sixty minutes. Edited images are delivered digitally, with usage rights.
It is priced as its own line rather than bundled, so you can see what it costs and decline it.
Why the separate line matters
Packages that include a photographer hide the fee inside the safari price, which makes the safari look expensive and the photography look free. Neither is true.
Dusk in a desert is genuinely hard to shoot: very short window, extreme contrast, blowing sand, and no chance to redo it. Someone who has done it before costs more than someone who has not, and you should be able to see that number and decide.
When to say yes
- A proposal. This is the one case where we push. See the proposal safari.
- A honeymoon, if you want more than phone photographs of the trip.
- A family gathering that will not be repeated — three generations in one place happens rarely.
When to say no
If you are already shooting yourselves, book the sunrise safari instead. It puts you on a ridge before first light, facing the direction you chose, which is worth more to a photographer than having someone else hold the camera.
What's included
- A photographer travelling with your vehicle
- 30 to 60 minutes at the sunset ridge, with the light as the constraint
- Edited images delivered digitally
- Full usage rights for your own purposes
Not included
- Drone work, which needs its own permit for the specific area
- Printing
- A guaranteed shot list — dusk light is short and weather is weather
Questions we get asked
Why is this priced separately rather than included in a package?
So you can see what it costs. Shooting at dusk in a desert needs someone who has done it before, and that fee is real — folding it into a package price hides it and makes the safari look more expensive than it is.
How long do we actually get?
Thirty to sixty minutes, and the limit is the light rather than the clock. The usable window around dusk is roughly twenty minutes of very good light either side of a longer workable period.
Can you fly a drone?
Not without a UAE permit for the specific area, which we cannot issue. Tell us before you book and we will be straight about whether it is possible where we go.
When do we get the images?
Edited and delivered digitally. Ask for the current turnaround when you book rather than assuming — it moves with the season.
Is it worth it for a proposal?
Yes, and it is the one case where we would push you towards it. A proposal happens once, at dusk, in bad light, and a phone will not carry it.
