Free cancellation windows

The window is stated on each safari page and it is the one that applies. It is enforced from your booking record rather than from this page, so the figure you saw when you booked is the figure that governs your booking.

The longer windows are not arbitrary. An overnight tent, a private majlis, a catering volume or the whole camp site is taken out of inventory when you book and cannot be resold at short notice.

Inside the window

Cancel inside the window and the deposit is not refunded. If you paid in full, the balance above the deposit is refunded and the deposit is retained.

Changing rather than cancelling

Moving your date is usually possible at no charge, including inside the cancellation window, subject to availability. Ask before you cancel — we would rather move you than lose you.

If we cancel

If we cancel — for a sandstorm, unsafe route conditions, heavy rain, or a vehicle problem we cannot cover — you are offered a new date or a full refund, including the deposit. We do not run a dune belt we do not like the look of, and you are not penalised for that judgement.

Weather

Dubai weather cancels safaris rarely, but sandstorms and heavy rain both do it. Heat does not: in summer the programme shifts rather than cancels.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the card used for payment, in AED, and typically appear within five to ten business days depending on your bank. Currency movement between payment and refund is your bank’s conversion, not a deduction by us.

No-shows

A missed pickup with no contact is treated as a cancellation inside the window. Your guide calls you before pickup, so this is almost always avoidable — answer the phone.
