What VIP means here, specifically

“VIP” is the most abused word in Dubai tourism, so here is the concrete list of what changes: the vehicle, the guide, the seating and the food service. Four things. The desert is the same desert.

We would rather write that plainly than imply there is a secret dune belt.

Who it suits

A proposal, an anniversary, a first night in the country, a client you are hosting. Anything where the evening is the point rather than an activity slotted into a schedule.

Who it does not suit

Anyone for whom this is one item on a packed itinerary. You will pay for a slower evening and then rush it. Take the standard private evening safari instead — it is the same drive and the same sunset.

For a whole group

If you are hosting more than six people, the better answer is usually hiring the camp rather than booking several VIP vehicles. One site, one arrival, one bill.

How the trip runs

  1. 15:00Pickup. Your named guide contacts you the day before to agree the time.
  2. 16:00Arrive at the dune belt. Safety brief, then dune driving to your group's appetite.
  3. 17:30Sunset ridge, held for your vehicle. Arabic coffee and dates served there.
  4. 18:30Arrive at camp and settle into your private majlis.
  5. 19:00Falconry demonstration, then the set menu served to your seating.
  6. 21:00Shisha and coffee, or leave whenever you prefer.
  7. 22:00Drop-off at your door.

Questions we get asked

What is the actual difference from the standard private evening safari?

The vehicle is the newest in the fleet, the guide is a senior member of the team named on your confirmation, your seating at camp is a private majlis rather than a table in the main area, and dinner is a set menu served to you instead of a buffet. The desert, the route and the dunes are the same.

Is it worth the difference?

If the evening is the centrepiece of a trip, or you are marking something, yes. If you mainly want the dunes and a good dinner, the standard private evening safari gets you the same desert.

Why is the cancellation window longer?

The private majlis and the set menu are reserved on your behalf, so we hold them for you and need more notice to release them.

Can we request a female guide or a no-music setup?

Yes, both. Ask when you book. The no-music setup covers the vehicle and your majlis.
