Answer first: the ridge, and nobody on it

The thing that makes a desert proposal work is not the rugs and the lanterns. It is standing on a dune with nobody else in sight, which in a country with this many desert tour operators takes deliberate effort.

So that is what we sell: a scouted ridge held for your vehicle, a setup placed before you arrive, and a guide who knows the plan and steps away at the right moment.

How the logistics actually work

While you are on the dune drive, a second vehicle places and lights the setup. You arrive at something finished. Nobody unpacks a box in front of your partner, and the guide never asks you a question about it in the car.

What we will tell you honestly

  • Dusk is short. The window between good light and dark is about twenty minutes. We will push you to commit to a time and stick to it.
  • Wind happens. Lanterns and loose fabric on an exposed ridge in March is a real problem. We will move you to a sheltered face rather than let the setup fall over.
  • Photography is hard here. Low light, high contrast, sand. Use someone who has shot in a desert at dusk, which is why we quote it separately rather than bundling whoever is available.

Afterwards

Most couples want dinner at camp. Some want to go straight back to the city and call their families. Decide on the night — the vehicle is yours either way.

  • Dinner at camp afterwards, or straight back to the city

Not included

  • The ring
  • Photography, quoted separately
  • Alcohol

  4. 17:45Your moment, on your signal. The guide steps away.
  5. 18:30Coffee and dates, photographs if you booked them.
  6. 19:30Dinner at camp, or straight back — decide on the night.

Questions we get asked

How do you keep it a surprise?

The setup is placed by a second vehicle while you are on the dune drive, so you arrive at a ridge that is already finished. The guide is briefed before pickup, so nothing is coordinated in front of your partner.

What is the signal?

Whatever you want it to be, agreed in advance. Most people use a phrase or a gesture. The guide steps back and the ridge is yours.

What if she says no?

We drive you both back, quietly, and there is no bill for anything beyond the safari.

Can we have a photographer?

Yes, quoted separately. Shooting at dusk in a desert needs someone who has done it before, and the fee reflects that rather than being hidden in a package price.

Can the setup be alcohol-free?

It is alcohol-free by default. Non-alcoholic sparkling drinks are included.

How far ahead do you need to know?

A week is comfortable. Less is often possible, but scouting a ridge that nobody else is using is the part that needs notice, and it is the part that matters most.
